For our story, once we'd come up with a font and size for our titeling, we made a storyboard in which we showed how the intro would play out with placements of titels and main scenes along with other pieces of key information. Once the storyboard was complete, after much trial and error, we wrerote it withought the text around and then went over it in black pen. So that we could take individual shots of each frame then transfer them to a computer to be edited together with credits and soundtrack.

Film Outline/ Intro
After my plliminary task we where asked to write an outline to a film idea, with genre, audiance, director ect. When sir looked at my work he said i needed to give the story a conclusion and write about the marketing, promotion, audiance ect, so i did. I also wrote a litle on the promotion of District 9, becasue that was the inspiration for the way i planed to promote The Truth. I then we went on to write about how the introduction would look, not so much about the narative. Sir was pleased with my initial work and so was i, after the editiations it looked very good.

Promotion, Marketing and Audience.
The Promotion and Marketing will be similar to the way Batman The Dark Knight was promoted but along the subject matter of films such as District 9. Possible slogan “The Truth is revealed, February 7th” Possibly a Premier where a snippet of the film will be shown, as well as a teaser trailer on the internet. There will be a website for the film, giving background to the rumours about government secrets and the subjects of question in the film. The film may also be marketed on the fat that this is David’s first directing of a feature film and that Danny Boyle will be envolved.
The audience for this film will be cult for the fans of tv series such as the X Files. The film will be aiming at audiences who went for recent hits such as Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind and Paranormal Activities. The audience will be mature teenagers verging on adult audiences, 15 to possibly 18 rating. This is because of the nature of the films subject and Sci-Fi genre element, but because it’s featuring actors from past popular Sci-FI and thrillers which should be good at atracting the nieche market audiance.
District 9 Promotion.
There was a human’s only campaign set up by Sony, promotional material was created that went along with the billboard that came up throughout the film. Posters and banners saying “humans only” and telling people to report non- human activity where put up in all sorts of public areas in the city. The website featuring rules and regulations on top of news feeds was also featured in San-Diego Comic Con 2008. There was also a countdown to the film’s release on the web.

Then towards the end the images will flash very fast, one after another, then the main Title "The Truth" will apear in big bald font. The music will be very dramatic, but graduall, lot's of drums and wind instruments, gradually building up to when the title apears, Instrumental.
Relation to reall media
I got the idea for my text font and introduction animation from the TV series X files, in the introduction sequence and the introduction of a destination. The font is very secret official styling, typical of sci fi, seing as my film is going to be in that genre it fit's in perfectly. The animation is very type writer style, which goes well with the secret document theme. The way the text and the background images and video intermingal is very surreal, i got inspiration from the introduction to the sci fi thriller Sphere. In the film the text fades in and out and often morphs into the shape of a sphere with sci fi related images poping up. The idea of having the text fade in and out when changing of images and video ocures came from this, having the text move around the screen.
Rating
After looking at the sight BBCF i came to the conclusion that i would rat the move a 15, because of the subject matter. I read the specification of a 15 on the site, and both X files and Sphere where 15's. If i had rated it a 12, i might have got more audiances, but i am aiming at a certain type of audiance, that would most likely be of the age around 15.

Gulliver's Travels
Gulliver's travles is a 20th Century fox film directed by Rob Letterman coming ought on the 26th December. The plot of the story is all about a writer, Lemual Gulliver (Jack Black) who is sent on an asignment to find the bemuda triangle. But in a storm ends up on Lilliput island, which is inhabited by litle people, he becomes the giant. And that is where his adventures begin. The films various advertising and marketing points come mainly from the trailer/ advert and the slogans presented by the poster. The poster for the film and at the end of the trailer both have the slogan "Black is the new big" which as being in film context as giant, also could mean as an actor. This is a great boost for Jack Black as an actor, seing as he hasn't stared in a film for some time. Though the main advertising campaign is in the advert take on the trailer. Theirs an advert that starts with jack black tied down, then it moves onto a litle shack with Orange phone company signs on it. Then jack pulls himself and starts talking about how he doesn't want the Orange to be involved in the trailer. While unkowingly hooks are lowered down to lift him up by his sholders. The ropes conntected to his limbs then are used to make him do a silly dance, against his will. At the very end theirs a slogan saying "don't let a mobile ruin your film". What this advert does is advertise Orange as a phone company, the film itself, and prevents people leaving their phones in the cinema. Their anchorage between the orange phone compnay and the film itlself. Because orange are telling audiances to not audiances to not leave mobiles on in cinemas, they are also saying that their customers are responsible. This advert also benefits cinemas, as a public mobile warning, because it's linked to a well known film it would disencourage audiances to leave their mobile on in the cinema. Because Orange have been able to use the Gulliver's Travels film trailer as part of their advertising, it sujests they may have a contract/ joint with the film companies. One of the attractions of the film is that it is made by a jointment of the USA and UK. The USA providing only a few actors, whereas the majority are english. Most of the USA's contributions is through money input. In America the Hollywood industry are looking for a more global audiance, because the american audiances are saturated. This film is one example of a film that is reaching out from America, to attract UK audiances.

Personal Review.
After i saw the film on the saturday i was very impressed. I saw it with a friend who'd read the book, she said it was very much like the book. Even though their where a few small changes, this meant that the story coudl be apreciated by modern audiances. This impressed me, i also liked that it had a good range of actors in such as Bilie Conolly, Catherine Tate, James Cordon and Jack Black who all played their part well. The comedy was childish, but i apreciated it very much because it wasn't rude, like allot of comedys these days. The story telling was also interesting, i liked the idea that their was an island with people bigger than normal people aswell as the litle people. The film also had some good morralls, that families could enjoy. All together the film was very clever in it's story telling of the classic, and origonally and honestly funny. From what i would imagine, most of the film would have been done in CGI, though this didn't put me of from the story itself, unlike Avatar. The obviously had a high budget due to the special effects and filming, including mese-ene-cene, editing, camera and sound, which meant it didn't look cheap, but remained sensere. The film soled itself on class acting and unique new all around family eintertainment retelling of a timeless classic. I personaly enjoyed the film very much, i didn't know quite what to expect because i didn't know the story, though what i saw i enjoyed. Though sir said that some people didn't like it, id'e have to disagree.

Art of the title
Here is my first blog, here is an example of a link to the website Art of the title. We are analysing the concepts of Introductions, in particular the murder drama Dexter. We take a look at the Mese-ene-scene, Camera, Sound and Editing of the sequence. After we viewed the introduction to the Dexter we viewd the introduction sequence to the crime thriller Se7en, then compared their similarities in production and their differences. Dexter is a very uncomfortable strange sequence, it involvs allot of extreme close ups and uses of everyday happenings. In Se7en the introduction is a series of cuts of a book being put together, with scruffy writing and pictures of grewsome murders. The two sequences have that close up sharp gritty quality.
Men in Black 2 (Film intro)
For my homework i am going to annalyse the intro to Men in Black 2. The film intro starts of with a presenter introducting the background to the films story line, with a cheesy recreation of what happened in the past. Then it goes into space where a rocket is flying wile the titeling of the production company, dircectores, main cast ect apears. The Mese ene Scene of the proglogue to the films is very 60's alien secret goverment look, the presenter wears a smart grey suit with grey comed back hair, he looks aged and knolegable. Which hints to his position as the story teller. The recreation of the past is very cheesy, it envolves allot of pupets combined with reall life actors in over steriotypicalised costume. The second sequence is entirely created with CGI, because the setting is in space, it's not a very realistic space, more fantasty sci-fi.Their is a great use of props in the first sequence, all the props aren't meant to look realistic or seriouse, they are so obviousely face that it can't be taken seriously, the guns and space sauser are good examples. The editing in the titles in the second sequence, where the rocket flys through space obliterating planets is very gritty comic book style font, due to the nature of the film being sci-fi. Their are allot of still cuts from scene to scene, the cut's are reasonably quick, where the presenter is talking, then to the recreation of the past. Their is a fade from when the presenter is talking to when the tripod is flying in space, this is used to signafy the change in time, from the past to the present. The camera in the second sequence is most of the time tracking the movement of the tripod through space, using panning and tracking camera angles. The soundtrack is very techno/orchestral, typical of films of this sort of genre.

Srubs intro (long)
For my homework i had to find my own personall intro, so i used the one fromt the hit american hospical comedy, scrubs. The intro uses allot of editing and panning camera angles. The sound is purelly non-diagetic, their are no sound effects or naturally occuring sounds exept for the soundtrack. The title sequance introduces the main characters as they walk around the hospital carying a single scan. The mise-ene-scene is typical american hospical, very clean, very shining, very precise to details. The panning camera angle shows how each character walks round the hospital carying the scan, this gives a point of perspective for the audiance. The editing is envolves allot of speed ups of the background members of the hospital, whereas the front focus cast are in normal motion. There are allot of cuts where one character replaces the place of another in an instant. The soundtrack is very cheery and indie styling and suits the sort of light hearted comedy the series is. All this adds up to the effect of a passing moment in the hospital that is made to look extra important, leading up to the title presented on a x ray scan.
